Trying to catch up.

Ok, Spring break is coming to an end and I have not done as much blogging as I thought I would do. So now that it is 9:45 pm on Saturday night I want to do a little catch up. Here are some videos and pictures from the past few weeks. I will also post them in the photo album section for later. Here goes nothing...I might need to post more later or re-organize it. Who knows!

This is a video of Syd working on walking. She still hates trying to crawl, so we thought we might as well work on the walking part. We'll see what she chooses to do.

Yum Yum! Getting some teeth

Syd had a much better day today. She slept a lot during the day and was a pretty happy girl for most of the day. She got to try graham crackers today for the first time. She loved them.

Our little one is getting so big.

After a weekend with the grandparents and us, Syd finally returned to school to see and play with all her friends. They were very excited to see her. When I came back to pick her up, Kayla (one of her 4yr. old friends) ran to me and said, " She was standing, she was standing" my response " really?" then Issac (another 5 yr.old friend, who absolutely loves her) said "Syd stood, Syd stood...she was standing today."

I knew it was not by herself, but she is getting very close. Sylinda showed me the picture she took of Syd playing and standing with her toy. I realized after looking at the picture, Syd is growing so fast and getting so big. She has not crawled yet, she HATES it, but she really likes standing. Maybe she will skip crawling altogether. We'll have to wait and see.

Cooking with the little one.

Today was our second snow day. Soooo...I thought I would do some projects with Syd to be prepared for the kids cooking tomorrow or when spring break is over and we also tried something new.
1. I made play dough with Syd. I got the recipe online and the nice part is that if she eats it, it can't hurt her.

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
food dye (any color, be creative!)
newspaper to cover the surface you're working on

It only takes about 10 minutes to make.

I also found another recipe that uses all natural dyes. I am going to try that later today. Here is the website for that. I will let you know how it goes.

Syd and I also made two different sugar scrubs. Here is the site that I got the recipes from: http://www.tipjunkie.com/sugar-scrub/

We made #5 with the recipe of #9 minus the lemon (because I started making it before I checked to see if I had lemon) and added vanilla to half and almond extract to the other half. They turned out very well. I even scrubbed Syd's hands and feet. She thought it was pretty fun.
